Road Trip Randy
United States
Приєднався 16 сер 2014
Hi, I'm Randy! I'm a Midwest kid trying to survive in Hollywood. Join me as I take road trips around California and explore all that the Golden State has to offer.
I've recently joined the world of the employed. With a shiny new camera and a few extra dollars to spare, I'm setting out to document SoCal to see if it's as great as everyone says. Expect shorts, vlogs, and scenic videos. I'm always looking for good California road trip ideas, so if you know of any, please send them my way.
It's road tripping time!

BANFF National Park Part 2: Icefields Parkway, Hot Springs, Canmore, Lake Minnewanka, and More
BANFF National Park Part 2: Icefields Parkway, Hot Springs, Canmore, Lake Minnewanka, and more
This is part 2 (of 2) of my trip to BANFF. It picks up right where we left off. On days 3 through 5 we found some waterfalls, explored the Icefields parkway, went horseback riding, stopped in Canmore, took a break in the hot springs, celebrated a birthday, and relaxed at Lake Minnewanka. Plus a lot more. Hope you enjoy.

The Icefields Parkway is said to be one of the nicest drives in the world. And having been on it for a day, I can see why. The road connects BANFF National Park to Jasper National Park. The drive itself is fun even if you never get out of the car. The mountain scenery and changing landscape is enough to keep you satisfied. However, if you have the time, the stops along the way are well worth checking out. Here are some of my favorites:
Things to see along the Icefields Parkway
Bow Lake - a quick stop with a mirror-like reflection in the lake
Peyto Lake - the most turquoise lake I saw
Weeping Wall - multiple waterfalls coming off one cliffside
Big Hill & Big Bend - a fun hairpin turn where you can pull off the road and look down into the valley
Columbia Icefield - check out a glacier, and book a ride on it if you want!
Glacier Sky Walk - glass floor observation deck (we didn’t do this, but it’s a popular one)
What to Do in Banff:
Horseback riding-
On day 4, we booked horseback riding for the morning. This was my first time being on a horse. I loved it. It’s pretty low key - horse slowly following another horse in single file. If you’re an experienced rider, it might be boring. But I liked seeing the scenery from the vantage point of a horse and getting to go on trails we’d never find otherwise.
Upper Hot Springs -
Banff offers natural hot springs to soak in after a long day of exploring (or chilling). In theory this is great, but I just wasn’t very impressed. I don’t know why. It just felt like a giant swimming pool to me. I think maybe in the winter it would feel more special.
What to see in Banff/Where to Stay
Canmore-
Canmore is another town in the national park where you can stay. It felt smaller and not as touristy to me. It felt more local and relaxing. I heard you can also find cheaper rates on hotels and houses here. Worth checking out.
Lake Minnewanka-
On our last day, we were exhausted. We had a later flight so wanted to use the morning to see a few more things. We were told to check out Lake Minnewanka. It was a great choice. It’s a beautiful relaxing lake where you can hop on a boat or just sit and enjoy the view from a picnic table.
Two Jack Lake-
I think it’s part of Lake Minnewanka (I could be wrong) and a smaller, more secluded area where we saw people camping, kayaking, and just relaxing. Quick and easy stop if you’re short on time - or even if you want to spend a whole afternoon.
Thanks for watching part 2. I hope you enjoyed our trip.

Weekend In Big Bear

Weekend in Big Bear! For my birthday this year, my friends and I spent the weekend in Big Bear. It’s about a 2 hour drive east of LA. It’s up in the mountains, away from the city life. It’s quiet and just a great place to relax. I wanted to document my birthday in Big Bear, but I also wanted to be present and enjoy it. So I asked my friends to do the recording for me, and then I edited it when ...

Home For The Holidays

Home For The Holidays I go home to Michigan twice a year: for the 4th of July and Christmas. Originally, the idea for this video was to make a story video. I was going to talk about what Christmas is like at my house, what's changed, etc. Unfortunately it didn't workout. I didn't get the shots I thought I'd need and some days I was just plain lazy. But I was still able to create something! And ...

Took a day trip to Joshua Tree National Park with some friends. It was my first time being inside the park and I just wanted to film a little video to document our day. Seeing Joshua Tree is definitely doable in one day, but I can also imagine camping there for a night or two would be pretty awesome. Michigan Has Real Beaches

I go home to Michigan every year to celebrate the 4th of July with family and friends on Lake Huron. When I told one of my California friends that I stay on the beach, they looked at me seriously and said “You know that’s not a real beach, right?” They clearly don't understand. Michigan has real beaches. I hope this video convinces you. Northern Michigan summers are the best. My family has a pl...

Note to self: Never take on Death Valley with an older Ford
Some of the music sounds like it was done through GarageBand on iPhone.
If you have a newer vehicle keep your A/C on it shouldn’t be an issue.
Thank God for your dad's help❤
Not a Ford!!! Fix or repair daily
That is the normal weather in our country during summers
DV in the summer is no joke. It will stess test the limits of a car.
Forget the Ford, buy TOYOTA.
Working a couple of winters at furnace creek ranch and summers in sequoia/ king's canyon natonal park were some of the best daya of my life
Your car sucks
I miss you bro, love from India 🇮🇳
Its trashed now. Thanks
Pro tip - if you drive through here, open your windows and crank your heat to max. Angle the vents out the windows. This will help cool your engine down. You do not, I repeat DO NOT want to break down here because you overheated your engine trying to crank the AC to max.
A very pleasant trip.
My dream velley ❤one day I'm on the way😮😮
China will rule USA 😊😊😊
as long as you came back safe and sound, and had fun on the trip, you didn't make any major mistakes so don't sweat it (no pun intended). I enjoyed your video and road trips rock. Thanks.
I realize this is 6 years old but your ac blowing hot could mean your radiator is cracked
If you knew ANYTHING about cars, you'd be in a Toyota.
It depends what you want. If you want to go from A to B get a Toyota.. but if you want to enjoy life a little more and you aren’t scared of maintaining your car get sth more interesting
@@georgebushisntcool I understand but then I drive a 300 horsepower s500 which cost me 3000 and gives me muscle car joy. There are good decisions available
Amazing trips, a lot of education, beautiful landscapes, greetings!
Any gas stations?
Now im not sure if I want to go there anymore lol
What a tripp mahn🔥🔥🔥
Watched from India.
I am from south east asia. Someday i will visit America 🤘
Clearly you are not that bright. Who takes car on road trip through the freaking desert without getting their car inspected first.
I wouldn't dare to take a drive to the Death Valley in a car like yours. I mean, just by the looks it doesn't seem to be a reliable one. 😅
I want to go but when it's not so hot. Looks beautiful.
Always rent a car for road trips
Great video! Glad I watched your experience and points of interest, and the important tips to consider prior to my trip yesterday. Plenty of water in a cooler was essential (thanks!). I know the heat from South Florida well, but this heat of 119F/48C in Death Valley was something else, unsustainable .🔥🔥🔥 I spent most of the time in the Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes purposely filming a short one-minute video for my UA-cam channel. The breezy heat was like an air blow dryer destined to assault you, particularly piercing through your eyes, lips and fingers. In a few minutes, your water plastic bottle is a hot tea (if I would have had a tea bag handy) and the tripod was extremely hot to the touch. My cell would stop working after about 5 minutes with a message of overheating, so back to the car in a minute walk to cool it down with the a/c. Repeat again and again for an hour and a half. I drove the one-way, 9-mile Artist’s Drive appreciating the dips and winds through the colorful mountains and had a brief stroll in Badwater Basin. I stayed in the park until late, swinging by the sand dunes at 9:00pm. Although it was already dark, the high temperature at 107F and the breezy conditions kept it uncomfortable. I’d say careful driving out the park so late, you will be mostly on your own through miles of winding mountain road. No issues with my well-maintained 2019 car. The experience was unique. The scenery was amazing in the park as well as driving there. 😀
Ford Taurus is the last vehicle anyone should bring near death valley. I had a similar mercury sable and it was always in the shop. Worst vehicle I ever owned Thanks for the video it was enjoyable
$3k camera and $3k car doesn't look like a real plot
This place is on my bucket list for sure 😊
This is dangerous what y’all did! From the no 🧢. To the irresponsible use of an old car in Death Valley with unreliable A/C. Y’all could’ve dies out there!!! White people do crazy shit for the experience! I will enjoy DV from the comfort of my own home through UA-cam!
I would not go there with old car.
What hotel is that?
Would it be any easier to go through on a motorcycle?
OREGON IS A VERY NICE STATE PORTLAND NOT SO MUCH!
Thank you, for this video. Death Valley to Las Vegas Complete Scenic Drive POV: ua-cam.com/video/xcFtgpkdJeY/v-deo.html
You need a reliable car going through places like that. Death can come in hours there. What is a ranger called in sick and they didn't patrol there until the next day and you weren't able to get the car started again? What then? You have enough water to last a day or so out there? What about making shade? Some things to think about.
I wanted to thank you for this video. I will soon be 79 years old and when I was 13 my father drove about 6 or 7 miles into Death Valley and said, we're going back. It was 110° and being from Virginia...THAT WAS HOT. Thanks to you, I got to see what we missed. 🙋♀️ Great Video.
And now, Gandom Beryan is the "Hottest place on Earth" with reported temperatures as high as 67C in the summer.
Ha, it was still intact but that was before three years of Biden.
Looks awesome 👍thx for sharing the information
Bobbi braindead? with heat absorbing black attire?
@6:32 pink Himalayan sea salt?
Thank you for posting this. Yes, Murphy's law is in effect at Death Valley and your positive attitude made it very enjoyable to watch and learn.

Can you please let me know what's the name of the street at the beginning of the video please. Where you can see the Downtown L.A. skyline? And cross streets please if posible. It's at :50 on the video. Thank you very much. I gave you a thumbs up 👍!
